Addicted to Plastic – Part 2

The Addicted To Plastic series is an amzingly informative documentary that took three years of filming in 12 countries including two trips to the middle of the Pacific Ocean where plastic debris accumulates in what’s called the ‘Garbage Patch’ and the ‘North Pacific Gyre’. The film details plastic’s path over the last 100 years and provides a wealth of expert interviews on practical and cutting edge solutions to recycling, toxicity and biodegradability. These solutions – which include plastic made from plants – will provide viewers with a new perspective about our future with plastic.

Addicted to Plastic – Part 1

As you know, we here at Buy Rash Guards care about our environment and one of the biggest ways we try to make a difference is by looking for ways to cut down on our use of plastic. One of the many reasons we cite for using our rash guard shirts is that they help you cut down on the amount of sunscreen you need to use which means less chemicals and less plastic unleashed on our environment and into our waters.

Plastic is all around you – just go through a day and count everything you touch or use that is plastic and you will be SHOCKED! Even more shocking is that no organism can break down plastic – so every bit of plastic that has ever been made is still around in some form… getting broken down into smaller and smaller pieces, (but never disappearing), now entering our food chain and our bodies.

We’ve come across a terrific series titled: Addicted To Plastic. It’s a 9 part series that we’re going to post weekly here on our blog so you can easily find it and follow the series.

Here is Part 1…

We’d love to hear any comments or feedback you have about the series – so please post!!
