Addicted to Plastic – Part 1

As you know, we here at Buy Rash Guards care about our environment and one of the biggest ways we try to make a difference is by looking for ways to cut down on our use of plastic. One of the many reasons we cite for using our rash guard shirts is that they help you cut down on the amount of sunscreen you need to use which means less chemicals and less plastic unleashed on our environment and into our waters.

Plastic is all around you – just go through a day and count everything you touch or use that is plastic and you will be SHOCKED! Even more shocking is that no organism can break down plastic – so every bit of plastic that has ever been made is still around in some form… getting broken down into smaller and smaller pieces, (but never disappearing), now entering our food chain and our bodies.

We’ve come across a terrific series titled: Addicted To Plastic. It’s a 9 part series that we’re going to post weekly here on our blog so you can easily find it and follow the series.

Here is Part 1…

We’d love to hear any comments or feedback you have about the series – so please post!!

  1. At ConservngNow.com, an online community of earth friendly individuals committed to preserving the environment. We believe that most people understand the harmful effects plastic can have on the environment. Consequently, we have seen the rise of reusable bags in almost every city and state. That being said, the number one reason most people give for using plastic bags is that they forget to bring their reusable bags.

ConservingNow has created a FREE car window static cling designed to accomplish two things: 1) it reminds you to bring your reusable bags into the store each time you leave the car and 2) is a public display of your commitment to the environment. Go to http://www.conservingnow.com to get yours today!!! Together we can make a difference…..
